Hi Kevin,
First of all thanks for visiting oraclebrains.com.
Today when I went through your blog, I find out a blog entry regarding blog.oraclebrains.com.
This blog entry is the answer to your question raised in your blog.
“I was going to post a comment (a question really) about why 8iR3 (8.1.7.x) doesn’t fit the nomenclature”
The posted Oracle release nomenclature is applicable starting from release 9.2.
Before this third digit used to indicate a particular maintenance release example as follows:
Oracle 8i Release 1 : 8.1.5
Oracle 8i Release 2 : 8.1.6
Oracle 8i Release 3 : 8.1.7
“When I looked the page over for a comment box, I noticed the bit at the bottom about logging in first”
Thanks for mentioning that which show I don’t know how many people reading the blog might want to comment and thought in same way. Let me do something regarding this, so that not body can turn away because of this issue.
Thanks
