Data Warehouse can be only deployed in relation database?

I suppose that depends on how you define “modern data warehouse technique”. You could define that term to require the use of a relational database. Assuming you do not define the term to require a relational database, you could use anything– flat files, object databases, hierarchical databases, etc– to build a data warehouse. Relational databases give you a certain degree of mathematical formalism that helps when dealing with massive data sets, they support tools that provide ETL support, tools that generate reports, etc. While I certainly wouldn’t want to build a data warehouse without using a relational database, with enough time and effort, you certainly could.
